Andreas M. Antonopoulos (born 1972, London) is a British-Greek Bitcoin advocate, technology entrepreneur, and author. He is best known for his work as an educator and advocate of Bitcoin and decentralized technologies.
Andreas graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in Computer Science, Data Communications, and Distributed Systems. His career began as an entrepreneur in Greece where he started his first company in his teens, an early BBS and proto-ISP. After moving to the United States, he co-founded and managed a successful technology research company, advising Fortune 500 executives on networking, security, and cloud computing.
Since 1990, Andreas has taught various IT subjects in private, professional, and academic environments. He has spoken at over 400 conferences globally, building a reputation as a world-class, charismatic speaker. In 2014, he was appointed as a teaching fellow at the University of Nicosia, the first university to offer a master's degree in digital currency.
Andreas is a recognized entrepreneur in the Bitcoin space. He has founded several Bitcoin businesses, launched community open-source projects, and serves as an advisor to various cryptocurrency companies. He is also the permanent host of the popular "Let's Talk Bitcoin!" podcast and frequently speaks at technology and security conferences.
